The Holztraum Chalet St. Englmar is one of 16 rustic wooden log houses on the Zipflwiese in St. Englmar and offers a unique experience amidst the Bavarian nature. This is a "natural log house," built using regional fir tree logs that have retained their natural shape, giving the ensemble a special charm.

Close to nature in the heart of the Bavarian Forest

The state-recognized spa town of St. Englmar is located at an altitude of 808 meters in the heart of the Bavarian Forest Nature Park, in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen. Surrounded by the five thousand-meter-high mountains Hirschenstein, Predigstuhl, Knogl, Pröller, and Hochberg, the idyllic mountain village of St. Englmar is a sporty area.
In summer, there are about 125 km of hiking trails, making it perfect for hiking. The sledding and leisure paradise, with summer toboggan runs, roller coasters, Flying Fox, adventure golf, etc., offers fun and action for young and old. The "Waldwipfelweg" (treetop path), which runs 50 meters above the treetops, provides unique views.
Winter is just as impressive. The DSV Nordic Active Cross-Country Skiing Center offers 74 km of certified trails for all skill levels, and the ski lifts of Predigtstuhl are only 900 meters from the log cabin village. Or, you can enjoy the splendor of the Bavarian Forest on 50 km of cleared hiking trails. St. Englmar is not only a winter wonderland but, above all, a winter hiking paradise.
